Upper Canada Village is Morrisburg’s biggest attraction, known as Ontario’s very own time capsule.

The spot is one of the largest living history sites in Canada, according to the site. Upper Canada Village features over 40 historical buildings including homes, functioning mills and trades workshops!

“Touring Upper Canada Village is a magical experience, transporting you back in time to the 1860s. A key part of the experience is the authentic buildings that make up the village, the activities that they each housed, and of course, the people who lived there,” says the website.

Oh, did we mention the bakery? The bakery on site makes fresh bread twice a day! There’s also a cheese factory, a hotel, a woollen factory, a chapel, a shoemaker, and much more.

The experiences in select buildings are immersive and hands-on so if you’re looking for an educational day out with the family, this could be the day trip for you.

For a full list of all the buildings and sites that make up the village, head here and pick which ones you want to visit.

During the fall time, the village turns into a Halloween spectacle!
