This Filipino night market in Toronto is an ‘ube wonderland’

Toronto is gearing up to celebrate all things Filipino culture at this year’s Filipino Night Market. The 2024 theme is “Ube Wonderland,” after one of the Philippines’ popular international ingredients: ube! Here’s everything you need to know before you go.

The Ube Wonderland Filipino Night Market is happening for three days this September from the 6th to the 8th.

The 2024 festivities will take place outside of Scarborough Town Centre by the Best Buy.

The event is put on by Pinay Tayo Toronto “a dedicated community organization that supports Filipino women small business entrepreneurs in the Greater Toronto Area.

For those that don’t know, ube is a purple yam and is used to make culinary creations such as cakes, ice cream, butter and more.

Visitors can expect all things Filipino culture including performances, music and of course a marketplace of delicious ube snacks and treats plus other Filipino food.

The night market will be open each day from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM and entry is free.

Guests can also expect DJs to perform throughout the three days so don’t just show up hungry, get ready to party too!
