The TTC is rolling out a fully decked out holiday train and streetcar you can ride

The TTC is bringing the joy of the holidays on board its trains. Get ready to hop on the TTC’s Holiday Train this festive season. From dazzling decor on the subway to festive fun on the streetcar, here’s what to know.

Hopping on the TTC today? You might just catch the first Holiday Train! Now until Jan. 5, 2026, the TTC Holiday Train will bring “cheer to your journey,” whether it’s to work or off on a festive adventure.

What to know about the TTC Holiday Train

Though we wish every single train would be decked out for the holidays, there’s only one Holiday Train making its rounds.

According to the TTC, it will depart southbound from Davisville Station on Line 1 (Yonge-University) on Dec. 10, 2025, at 9:45 a.m. It will then continue making its journey throughout the season on Line 1.

You may get a chance to hop on if you take the TTC from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The fun doesn’t end there, though.

Holidays and the TTC streetcars

There’s more holiday magic on the streets, too!

Four of the city’s beloved streetcars will see a new festive look for a limited time only. We may not know which routes will get the holiday treatment, but honestly, that’s part of the magic.

One streetcar will be fully decorated inside and out for a truly immersive festive experience, while three others will see wrapped exteriors, spreading joy throughout the city.

Now the next time you hop on the TTC, take a second look at what’s rolling in. Fingers crossed, it’s a little holiday magic pulling into the station.

After all, we all know we definitely need it!
