Canada’s ‘only moving haunted house’ is in Alberta & requires a waiver to ride

Have sugarplum dreams of the Polar Express and the Hogwarts Express? If you’re climbing aboard The Train of Terror in Mossleigh, Alberta, prepare for a nightmarish experience instead.

Located just outside Calgary, Aspen Crossing is known for its charming family-friendly tours all year round, but come Halloween, they’re anything but sweet.

What to expect

Described as “Canada’s only moving haunted house,” guests will likely get the chills shortly after checking in.

With three chilling, full-contact mazes, and a 1.5-hour train ride, guests must first sign a waiver to enter.

“This event is not your run-of-the-mill haunted house,” they explain.

“Our performers are allowed to touch, grab, follow and perhaps even take you through any part of the experience. This is not for the faint of heart and is intended for an 18+ audience.”

Feeling brave? They’ll be back with a vengeance starting October 3rd, 2024

This time around, you’ll be spooked by supernatural forces in a manor far, far, away.

“Our story of Professor Grim begins at Grim Manor but doesn’t end there,” they write.

After a lifelong search for the unusual and rare, you’ll follow him on a journey to find the “remains of a powerful medieval witch.”

“These bones have been placed in several locations and are guarded by powerful beings. All this was to prevent these bones from ever being reassembled.
Believing that this discovery and completing this collection would lead to finally controlling immortality, the terrifying results instead unlocked a portal into … Well, you will just have to see for yourself.”
