It certainly doesn’t feel like winter anymore when it comes to the temperatures in Toronto! After what has been called an above-seasonal winter in the city, the wacky weather in Toronto continues as the city could break a 50-year-old temperature record today, March 4th.

“In terms of records for Toronto, we are forecasting a high of 13°C with the current record as 13.3°C set back in 1974, 50 years ago,” said Environment Canada Weather Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson in an interview with Curiocity.

“We are on our way to breaking that record if temperatures continue to climb.”

Coulson also shared that while the likelihood of breaking a record on Monday is much stronger, Tuesday could also see a record broken.

“We are forecasting a high of 16°C tomorrow, with the current record at 18.5°C set back in 2004 so there is a chance of that record being broken as well,” Coulson added.

It isn’t just Toronto and the GTA that are set to break records. According to Coulson, we should expect temperature records broken in Southern and Central Ontario on Monday including Windsor, Hamilton and Brantford.

While temperatures are set to drop again on Wednesday, Coulson told Curiocity that it’s worth noting that Wednesday’s high of 7°C is still above the average high for March in Toronto, which is 3°C.

Get outside and enjoy the warm March weather, Toronto!
