When you think of horror and romance genres, they don’t seem like a natural pairing. But for these two Toronto shops, the difference is exactly the point. Hopeless Romantic Books and Little Ghosts Books have joined forces to host a limited-time bookstore pop-up at Union Station.
They’re bringing spine-tingling thrillers and swoon-worthy love stories together, on the same shelves.
Now until May 31, 2026, the partnership will showcase the best of the two, proving that maybe opposites don’t just attract, they can coexist.
You can find the bookstore pop-up inside Union Station’s Grand Hall, open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Both bookstores are known for being the first of their kind in the city. Hopeless Romantic Books was the first in Toronto devoted entirely to love stories, while Little Ghosts Books carved out its own niche as the city’s first shop dedicated to all things horror.
Though opening day goodies may already be gone, the excitement isn’t over. In a recent Instagram post, Little Ghost Books teased that more merch may be on the way.
“While that collab totes special for opening day may be gone, anticipate some great merch hitting these shelves soon,” shared the LGB post.
For fans of either genre, or if you’re just curious to see how the two can share a space, this limited-time pop-up might be worth the trip to the city’s busiest transit hubs.
Now the real question is, which side are you starting with first?
When: Until May 31, 2026
Time: Daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Union Station (Grand Hall)
