Hey, Toronto, what’s up?! Your group chat is popping off, and we’re here to keep the good times going. Welcome to another week of the Toronto Group Chat. This is your weekly rundown of the city’s biggest and hottest updates. Here, you’ll find all the stuff you actually want to share in your group chat. Every week, we’re dishing out five must-know highlights of what’s going on in the city or stories you need to know about.
Maybe people are already talking about it, or maybe you’ll start the conversation? Let your friends know.
Check out what’s new in Toronto. Let’s get into it.
Who cares if it’s summer? It’s time to get ready for one of the most important times of the year – Halloween. Canada’s Wonderland understands its importance; that’s why they’re hosting Halloween Haunt auditions on Wednesday, July 15.
They’re looking for actors for “an elevated haunt experience,” singers, and dancers.
Audition forms can be submitted online, and be sure to email cw.entertainment@canadaswonderland.com to schedule your audition time.
The Drake’s Café Patio will be THE go-to spot for Taco Tuesdays. Literally tell me what’s better than an ice-cold beer, some margs and pork tacos? Pair that with some guac and chips and Latin-inspired, open-format DJ sets by DJ J.J.
And it’s all for $29, every Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Now, another place I can add to my Sunday “errands.” Healthy Planet will be opening a new location in Toronto’s Midtown at 2529 Yonge St., opening on Aug. 21, 2026.
It will be a two-storey store with fresh organic produce, natural groceries, and refrigerated and frozen foods on the first floor. Oh, and a Healthy Planet Kitchen with nutrient-dense bowls, wraps, grab-and-go foods, nutritious smoothies, premium coffees and much more.
Then, on the second level, you’ll find vitamins and supplements. This also includes pantry staples, health and beauty products, and sports nutrition.
The final FIFA World Cup game is on Sunday, July 19, 2026. It’s going to be INTENSE, and if you’ve been catching all the action like me, you’ll want to watch the big game with your friends.
Spots like Primmadonna will host a Finals Watch party with doors opening at 2 p.m. and an afterparty from 6 p.m. to late. You could also go to Cabana for the ultimate party. Everyone wearing a soccer jersey gets free entry before 3 p.m. You can find all the ticket info online.
In the west end? Humber Polytechnic is hosting the final week of World Cup fun, too! Make your way there on July 15, 18, and 19 to catch the final three games this week.
It’s HOT in the city, and I’ll find any way to keep cool this week. Thankfully, it’s National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, July 19 and Scooped by Demetres is offering a single scoop of any flavour for just $0.19. This deal is only available for the first 100 guests at its Distillery District location, 46 Gristmill Lane. Doors are set to open at noon.
And that’s all we have for you today! We’ll be back next week with more fun in Toronto.
