Toronto’s popular outdoor flower market returns & it will brighten up your weekends

The Toronto Flower Market returns to the city this spring after a couple of years of absence, brightening up our weekends.

If you’ve never been, the Toronto Flower Market is the city’s first outdoor market of its kind, and it celebrates and supports Ontario grown flowers and plants while connecting growers and florists directly with the city.

Founded in May 2013, the market season runs monthly from May through October, and its first return is on Saturday, May 7.

“Over the years, the market has cultivated a passionate local flower community of growers, florists, designers, gardeners and producers who transform the city into creative flora and fauna experiences. Our aim is to develop stories and engagements with flowers that educate consumers about seasonality,” states the event website.

Besides May 7, the Market returns on June 11, July 16, August 13, September 10, and October 8. They generally run from 10 am to 3 pm, and this year it is back at the corner of Queen Street West and Shaw Street at TD Commons (previously Shaw Park.)

“No two flower market Saturdays are alike. Each has its own unique combination of growers and florists, their buckets full of flowers grown locally that month,” states the Toronto Flower Market. “The colours and varieties available change along with the seasons, but our guests’, vendors’ and volunteers’ smiles are a constant.”

We’re definitely ready for some colourful spring flowers!
