Want to give your window sills a bit more colour this spring? Toronto’s Botanical Garden is hosting its annual spring pant sale this weekend and whether you’re in search of a last-minute Mother’s Day gift or a little something for your home, this is the place you to go.
“Enjoy a friendly and relaxed shopping experience surrounded by plants and the people who care for them,” the description says.
Some of the plants you’ll get to shop include flowering annuals, herbaceous perennials, native plants, pollinator plants, small trees and shrubs, unique vegetables, and fresh herbs to cook with.
You’ll also get to chat with the experts on-site including horticulture staff, native plant specialists, and Toronto Master Gardeners, about which plants are most suitable for your home, apartment, balcony, or terrace.

And on Sunday, you can attend a free talk at 1 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. all about pollinators and how to help them thrive.
Shoppers are asked to come prepared with old plant trays, bins, or cardboard trays to transport their new plant babies home.
There are wagons and carts to use while you shop but quantities are limited, so if you have one to bring along, you may want to do so.
Plus, all proceeds support the Toronto Botanical Garden to keep it lush and beautiful for many years to come.
Also this weekend, the Toronto Flower Market returns to the city after a couple of years of absence, brightening up our weekends.
This is the city’s first outdoor market of its kind, and it celebrates and supports Ontario-grown flowers and plants while connecting growers and florists directly with the city. Shop for a bouquet or simply stop by to enjoy the fragrant and colourful blooms.
It’s the season of enjoying nature’s colours and what better way to do so than by picking your own flowers and plants?
