This trail is marked as difficult so if you’re planning on embarking on it, be sure to be prepared for some tough conditions and have all the essentials packed such as water, snacks, sunscreen and proper attire and footwear.

According to Ontario Parks, “This challenging trail takes you to the top of the tallest cliffs in Ontario (greatest uninterrupted vertical drop) and provides access to some of the most breath-taking lookouts in central Canada.”

The hike is 6.6km round-trip, or 21.8km round-trip from the Provincial Park parking lot taking the average hiker anywhere from six to ten hours to complete.

“Spectacular views of both the east and west coast of the Sibley Peninsula are revealed to determined hikers who venture here,” writes Ontario Parks.

This trail is just a small sliver of the 100km in trails at Sleeping Giant, so if the climb seems a little intimidating, there are other trails in the park that are marked as easy including Plantain Lane Nature Trail, Joe Creek Nature Trail and Sifting Lake Trail just to name a few.

You will have to pay a day-use fee at Sleeping Giant in order to access Top of the Giant Trail, starting at $12.25.

Enjoy the views, Ontario!
