Alessia Cara and Feist to perform at this free Toronto music festival

A free music festival with Alessia Cara, Feist, Broken Social Scene, and more is taking over Toronto’s Nathan Phillips Square later this season.

These days, seeing live music in Toronto can come with quite a hefty price tag — from $50 and up for smaller venues to well over $1,000 for stadium seats (or an astounding $100,000 if it’s a Taylor Swift concert). Even festivals can cost a fortune, depending on the duration and seating.

That’s why this upcoming event is one worth marking on your calendar.

On Saturday, June 6, Nathan Phillips Square will transform into TOgether for Toronto Healthcare, a free one-day music and wellness festival featuring an impressive lineup of Canadian talent.

Performers include indie darling Feist, R&B popstar Alessia Cara, indie rockers Broken Social Scene, and Paul Langlois of The Tragically Hip. Organizers also hint at surprise guests and “special moments” throughout the day.

Aside from the stellar music, the space will be jam-packed with loads of delicious food trucks, wellness programming and interactive activities to check out.

The festival aims to raise $1 million in support of Michael Garron Hospital and UHN, which was recently recognized as one of the best hospitals in the world.

If you’ve ever dreamed about winning a car, no need to go on a game show, as this concert might just be your ticket. Attendees who make a donation can potentially win some pretty sweet prizes, including a Dodge Charger Daytona and courtside Toronto Raptors tickets.

With capacity for up to 35,000 people, this could easily be one of the biggest — certainly the most affordable — shows of the year.

TOgether for Toronto Healthcare will take place at Nathan Phillips Square, located at 100 Queen St. W.
