This Washington car company just shattered a world speed record

Well, folks, Washington is about to become known for one more thing. And that is for having the company that produced the world’s fastest production vehicle. So if you have a need for speed, look no further than the SSC Tuatara.

SSC (Shelby SuperCars) North America was started by Jerod Shelby in 1998 right here in Washington. And since then has been working to create some of the world’s fastest cars. So clearly he did something right with this new car that requires almost perfect design to drive at its top speed. Which in case you were wondering is over 330 MPH, and 316 MPH on average.

And that’s pretty dang fast and a little scary if you ask us. But hey, we’ll leave it to the pros to drive these bad boys. And on that note, Oliver Webb, the driver for this test described his experience as “unbelievable”. But we’re guessing we’d feel the same way ripping down a Nevada road.
