This Vancouver home for sale might be the most expensive teardown in Canada

Time to do some quick maths, house hunters! We’ve found a home for sale in Vancouver, and we want you to guess the price. It was built over 100 years ago, has 3 bedrooms, and comes in at around 2,700 square feet. Ok, ready to make your guess? Drumroll, please…

The home at 1969 Drummond Drive in Point Grey is priced at a stunning $8,988,000. Yeah, you’ll need to shell out close to $9M just for the land itself, not including whatever it costs to tear down the old home and build a new one.

Because let’s be honest, there’s no way a multi-millionaire will be going house-poor over this thing. Although the home is still standing, the photos show a dilapidated interior that probably hasn’t seen a legitimate tenant in years, if not decades. It definitely looks like the type of place our more, ahem, adventurous university friends would try to explore.

So, what makes it so expensive? Well the land, of course! This home sits on a whopping 1.5 acres, and is intended for that special buyer who wants to build their own ‘fabulous estate’ on the property. And sure, you might have tons of privacy to do it.

But even still, we’re confused that anyone thinks this is a reasonable price. After all, for only a few hundred thousand more you can buy waterfront properties over in West Vancouver. Heck, one’s even for sale at just over half the price! You can’t tell us you’d rather have a spot in Point Grey than a waterfront home… we simply wouldn’t believe you.

Which is why we can’t believe the price of this home for sale. If you want to see it with your own eyes, then just click here. You’ve been warned, though.
