This unique Vancouver condo for sale comes with its own turret

Did you spend your days pretending to be a king or queen? Well, what was once a dream may now be your reality, if you’ve got the dough for it? Built over a century ago, this converted heritage cathedral has luxury amenities, but more importantly, it comes with a turret.

More on that in a second, though. First, the regular draws. Centrally located in Mount Pleasant, the apartment comes with 1 bedroom and 2 bathrooms, and features updated appliances and an open floorplan that is decidedly 21st century. It’s probably for the better, because we have no idea how to use a washboard. And as for the extras? You’ve got a parking space, a bike locker, and a storage area to use.

However, rustic touches remain, thanks to a hardwood floor, exposed brick, and even a (gas) fireplace for those colder nights. So when you don’t feel like watching a movie or FaceTiming your friends, have some good ol-fashioned fun and curl up with a book on the couch! Maybe Wuthering Heights or something.

Of course, there’s no better place to curl up than in the turret. This crazy addition to the condo is, in fact, a circular room with a soaring 17-foot high ceiling. It’s currently being used as a den, but could also be converted into a second bedroom. You know, just in case you needed to really feel like a medieval royal.

We say you might as well, since the price definitely reflects at least a little royal flare. At just over 1,000 square feet, the condo is listed at $1,098,500. While it’s better than buying a teardown in East Van (at least to us), we’re going to need to really buckle down if we want to make a bid. Maybe our crops will be bountiful, and the local lord will shine favourably upon us with coin!
