This new walking & biking trail will run from Washington state to Washington DC

Have you heard of the Great American Rail-Trail? If not, you’re probably going to be pretty interesting. Because this trail is proposed to run all the way from Washington state to Washington DC. So if you’re ready to head out for the ultimate bike ride or hike be sure to keep on reading.

The Great American Rail-Trail covers 12 states and 3,700 miles as you walk or bike along old railroads and existing trails. So while this amazing trail is a work in progress, there has been work done in 10 out of 12 states. And that means you can almost enjoy the whole thing.

We have a feeling that when this trail is completed it will become a treasured piece of the country’s trail system. Not to mention, it will be able to serve almost 50 million people who live within 50 miles of the trail. And that’s a ton of people if you think about it.
