Well, folks, now that the ball is rolling in reopening Seattle you might be antsy to get out and see some things. Something worth checking out is Casey Curran’s new show at Southlake Union’s MadArt Gallery. It’s probably unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Curran’s new show, Parable of Gravity, features intricate crumbling wooden towers with flowers protruding from them. And some of the towers are as high as 8 feet! So beyond the amazing immersive quality, the symbols in these pieces can be seen as the world’s current state. Between global warming, politics, and of course the pandemic, the towers represent a lot. And these symbols are spot on with Curran’s focus on mythology, science, and religion.

The towers or a symbol of a human’s technological progress. And the kinetic flowers that come out of them can perhaps be seen as what happens when we go too far. Either way, the show has equal parts of decay and growth.
So if you’re in the mood to see some art we highly recommend stopping by the show in Southlake union. If you’d like to learn more you can click the link below. And as always if you end up checking it out be sure to let us know what you think and tag us in any pictures.
