This hidden Vancouver rental with a private pool is the ultimate staycation spot

While we daydream about travelling around the world (or the rest of Canada), it’s nice to know that Vancouver is home to some absolutely stunning staycation spots. And, that’s probably no better experienced than in the Southlands, a Vancouver neighbourhood that we still can’t believe actually exists. Let’s check it out!

Basically, the Southlands are what happens when you combine a country lifestyle, the convenience of city amenities, and a relatively large dash of wealth. Pretty much exclusively acreages, you’re just as likely to see someone riding their horse as you are them driving their Bentley. Naturally, the community’s amenities reflect the residents, with golf courses, stables and small farms scattered throughout the area.

And, this contemporary masterpiece home is a stunning way to take it all in. The open floor plan throughout the house encourages indoor/outdoor living, which is exactly what you’d want in the summer months. Even more so when you find out there’s a huge heated pool back there, alongside the amazing gardens.

Meanwhile, the inside of the house is nothing to shake a stick at, either. With all the touches you could ask for in a beautifully designed setting, there’s no doubt that this home would be just as fitting in Beverly Hills as it is in, well, another incredibly prestigious neighbourhood. It’s tough to leave the patio, but the massage chair in the media room might just convince you to during your stay.

Alternatively, you could try your hand at being a gourmet chef, using state-of-the-art appliances in the fittingly gourmet kitchen. If you feel like a home this well-designed deserves a little more of a ‘refined’ pastime, then cozy up in the loft with a good book. We’re thinking something ironic, like Walden or re-reading the Harry Potter series.

There’s maybe no better way to sum up this home than with the master bedroom, though. Located on the main floor, it perfectly combines comfort and design, offering a wonderful place to lay your head, or rise to greet the day. And, the private hot tub just steps away doesn’t hurt, either.

So, if you’re thinking like a city oasis is just what you need, then make sure to check out this incredible home. Of course, it’s not exactly a bargain at an average price around $1,700/night. But, this is Vancouver, after all!
