This Canadian private island comes with 2 cabins & is on sale for under $600,000

We stumbled on a diamond in the rough this morning for our home of the week, folks! There’s a private island for sale in Ontario with not 1 but 2 cabins on it, and it’s less than $600,000! That’s cheaper than a starter home in either Vancouver or Toronto, so let’s check it out.

It’s called Duval Island. The island is located in Echo Bay, in the northwest section of Ontario. It’s not exactly convenient, since it’s about a 7-hour drive away from Toronto. But hey, it’s a private island, so convenience probably isn’t a very big factor here. Instead, we’re looking at the relaxation factor.

And this one has it in spades. The 5.40-acre property offers 360-degree views (naturally) of the surrounding area, including a nearby historic lighthouse. The main cottage has a whopping 4 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a kitchen, and a living room with a wood-burning stove.

Meanwhile, the ‘guest cottage’ is a little more barebones, but still offers a place to sleep and easy access to the beach on the property. So, great for an afternoon dip in the summer and a little siesta afterward. For added creature comforts, the island is outfitted with running water, solar power, and a backup generator.

We look at this property and we see what must have been a serious family getaway, and we want a little bit of it. Make sure to tag us in a photo if you leave the city life behind and opt for island living. We’ll be cheering you on every step of the way!
