10 things to do this weekend in Toronto (Jan. 9-11)

We made it through our first week back from the holidays, Toronto. Just because we’re into the thick of January now doesn’t mean we’re going to sit around at home (well, you can, I can’t stop you). The city is still hoppin’ with things to do, and I’ve put together the best of the best for this weekend.

These are 10 things you can do in Toronto this weekend.

Hangar Skate

It isn’t a winter weekend if you don’t fit in some skating.

Hangar Skate is free to attend, and there’s music and a few other festivities you can enjoy while you’re there.

When: Friday, Jan. 9 to Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026
Where: YZD Experience Centre – 34 Hanover Rd.
Cost: Free admission

Skate by the Lake

Okay, you might be noticing a bit of a theme here, but I’m just giving you options depending on where you are in the city.

Skate by the Lake is what it sounds like — a rink by the lake with the city as your backdrop. Gorgeous, and free.

When: Friday, Jan. 9 to Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026
Where: Harbourfront Centre – 235 Queens Quay W.
Cost: Free admission

The Bentway’s Winter Skate

Your final option.

The Bentway is a figure loop rink under the Gardiner, a perfect place to go if you live right downtown.

When: Friday, Jan. 9 to Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026
Where: The Bentway – 250 Fort York Blvd.
Cost: Free admission

Mrs. Doubtfire musical

Helloooooooooooo, Toronto.

The Mrs. Doubtfire musical is happening all weekend at Princess of Wales Theatre, and tickets are still available.

When: Friday, Jan. 9 to Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026
Where: Princess of Wales Theatre – 300 King St. W.
Cost: $69+ per ticket

If you or someone you know loves life on two wheels, be sure to mark your calendar.

When: Friday, Jan. 9 to Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026
Where: The International Centre –  6900 Airport Rd.
Cost: $31.59+ per ticket

Halsey concerts

Halsey is playing not one, not two, but three shows in Toronto this weekend.

History will host the singer each night this weekend, so pick a night and get ready for a fantastic show.

When: Friday, Jan. 9 to Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026
Where: History – 1663 Queen St. E.
Cost: $130+ per ticket

Toronto Marlies vs. Belleville Senators

The Marlies are at home Friday night, and tickets are much cheaper than a Leafs game.

When: Friday, Jan. 9, 2026
Time: 7 p.m.
Where: Coca-Cola Coliseum – 19 Nunavut Rd.
Cost: $27.25+ per ticket

Evergreen Brick Works Farmers Market

Is there anything better than a farmers market?

Evergreen Brick Works is my favourite one, and in the winter, it’s extra magical.

When: Sunday, Jan. 10, 2026
Time: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Evergreen Brick Works – 550 Bayview Ave.
Cost: Free admission

Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Vancouver Canucks

More hockey, but this time, the Leafs are taking on the Canucks. A true Canadian match-up.

When: Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026
Time: 7 p.m.
Where: Scotiabank Arena – 40 Bay St.
Cost: $121.40+ per ticket

Toronto Raptors vs. Philadelphia 76ers

Hockey not your thing? How about basketball?

The Raptors are also at home this weekend, playing Sunday against Philly.

When: Sunday, Jan. 11, 2026
Time: 6 p.m.
Where: Scotiabank Arena – 40 Bay St.
Cost: $91.75+ per ticket

I hope your weekend is a good one, Toronto.
