This first September weekend is bringing loads of that early fall energy to Edmonton, bursting with fun and exciting things to do all throughout these few days.
Edmonton is getting a bunch of cool events like drive-in movies and block parties this September. Not to mention, as the season comes to a close, everyone is making the most of these outdoor events. Don’t worry, though, we’ve rounded up some of the best things to do this long weekend in the city to help you find the ultimate activity.
After the continuous success of Horizon’s drive-in movies, the team decided to bring back more action for September. This week, you can get ready to drive on down, grab a ticket, and enjoy a movie from the sanctity of your own vehicle.

If you want to get involved in the vibrant arts community in the city, the Edmonton Art Crawl is surely going to get you immersed. From jazz performances on rooftops to a whole Latin music festival, this art crawl is offering a load of unique adventures to explore throughout three exciting days.

This will be the inaugural year of the new go-to free event, Kejia Festival. Folks around Edmonton are welcome to come down to Louise McKinney Riverfront in September for three days jam-packed with endless things to do, see, and eat.

Get ready to thrash at this new music festival taking over Fan Park this Friday.

This market in Old Strathcona has been around for ages, and it’s Edmonton’s premier farmers market. Being the original year-rounder, this place offers the best locally grown and made goods as well as trinkets you won’t be able to find anywhere else.
When: Every Saturday and Sunday
Time: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays

Queen Mary’s Market is located in the heart of Edmonton and offers over 130 vendors, as well as five individual restaurants within the building. This market features strong local vendors with a selection of antiques, rare collectibles, local produce, artisanal goods, and services.

Time: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays

From June until September, the downtown streets will be bursting with electric energy, all in the name of community. Live music, patio vibes, and local businesses are what this Summer Block Party series is all about. You won’t want to miss out on these weekends, because they’re sure to be a blast.

Time: 1 to 6 p.m.
Where: Rice Howard Way Entertainment District, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free
This is Edmonton’s largest and longest-standing outdoor market, offering over 200 vendors and a wonderful variety of handmade goods and locally produced treats. It’s a great community-driven market that’s perfect for those looking to get closer to bakers, chefs, artisans, and more.
When: Every Sunday until Oct. 11, 2026
Time: 10 a.m to 3 p.m.

Though it’s not exactly in Edmonton, this pop-up market is heading for a short drive east into Sherwood Park to the farm grounds. Taking over Blooms on 7, you’ll be able to explore over 20 vendors, grab a picture at the photo booth, pick your own flowers, and most importantly, meet the alpacas on-site during this epic free event.

Foundation Series has established itself as a fantastic house music festival in Canada, and now it’s coming to Edmonton for the first time this weekend. With huge names like Dom Dolla and Chris Lorenzo taking the stage, this upcoming event is going to take over Fan Park for the ultimate open-air festival.
