Welcome to November, Vancouver! It might be a bit early to dive into the holidays, but that doesn’t mean you have to twiddle your thumbs until then! There are tons of concerts, arts festivals, and live shows to check out over the next couple of weeks. From seeing Sabrina Carpenter to Cirque du Soleil, here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this week (November 4-8).

Sabrina Carpenter 

One of the biggest artists to blow up this year is none other than rising popstar Sabrina Carpenter, known for hit singles like Espresso and Please, Please, Please.

USHER: Past Present Future 

If you grew up in the 2000s, Usher needs no introduction. The singer-songwriter (and dancer!) is an influential figure in contemporary R&B and pop, first rising to fame at only 15 years old.

DTES Heart of the City Festival

The 21st annual DTES Heart of the City Festival is coming up at the end of October and will last through mid-November, and will feature over 100 local events across 40 venues – both indoors and out. With the 2024 theme of ‘Threads of Connection,’ the 2024 fest will take place over 12 days, showcasing music, stories, poetry, theatre, films, dance, ceremony, and much more.

Craft Beer Week – North Vancouver

Get ready to kick back and soak up the vibes, because Craft Beer Week is back for another round of laid-back fun this November 2024! From November 1st to November 15th, 2024, we’re rolling out the barrel for two weeks of easygoing celebration, highlighting the incredible craft breweries that call the North Shore home.

Vanyhoo Fall Market 

From 4 to 9 pm on Friday, November 8th, The Pipe Shop is transforming for the Vanyhoo Fall Market, a free-to-enter fall market with over 50 local vendors spanning artisanal goods, eco-friendly products, pet products, and home decor.

Tan Dun’s Buddha Passion 

Oscar and Grammy Award-winning composer Tan Dun is performing at the Orpheum this Friday and Saturday as part of his epic choral work, Buddha Passion. Inspired by Chinese and Sanskrit texts set in the Himalayas, the performance will feature the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, six percussionists, five vocal soloists, and a dancing pipa player.

STAND Festival

Starting November 1st, Presentation House Theatre in North Van is co-presenting a series of events with Blackout Art Society as part of the 4th annual STAND Festival, which celebrates emerging immigrant and refugee performing artists. The festival aims to offer the chance to connect newcomer artists with the community so they may share their stories.

When: Friday, November 1st to Sunday, November 17th

Cirque du Soleil: ECHO

With whimsical characters, daring acrobatics, and vibrant costuming and sets, ECHO is a celebration of everything we know & love about Cirque du Soleil. And Vancouverites are able to check it out now!

Visit a Japanese garden

The Nitobe Memorial Japanese Garden is somehow even more magical in the fall, with vibrant maple leaves to welcome you. Enjoy a quiet stroll or simply sit and immerse yourself in nature.
