10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (Nov. 28-30)

Grab your warmest layers and rain boots, because this weekend’s lineup of things to do will have you braving all kinds of weather. From the Eastside Flea’s holiday market to MJ: The Musical, to the start of one of Vancouver’s most celebrated events of the year at VanDusen, here are 10 of the best things to do in Vancouver this weekend (Nov. 28-30).

Festival of Lights at VanDusen Botanical Garden 

Starting this Friday, VanDusen’s stunning Festival of Lights is back to transform the garden’s 55 acres into a magical network of illuminated pathways. Highlights include themed displays and interactive exhibits like the mycelium installation, the new Great Bear Rainforest Exhibit, and of course, the Dancing Lights, which come to life every 20 minutes from the top of the hour.

When: Friday, Nov. 28, 2025, to Jan. 4, 2025
Time: 4 to 10 p.m.

Cost: $29 per adult, $19 for youth and seniors, and $12 per child

Disney on Ice: Let’s Dance!

Maybe you’re looking for something the whole family can enjoy this week. In that case, consider heading to Disney on Ice’s newest production, Let’s Dance! Mickey and pals will be behind the turntable at the Pacific Coliseum starting this week, and they’ll be joined by tons of other lovable Disney characters.

Eastside Flea Holiday Markets

The Eastside Flea is back and better than ever, showcasing the work of 50 vintage and handmade vendors from across the city. Guests can also expect to find tasty food truck vendors on-site, stocking stuffers, and seasonal beverages to sip on.

When: Saturdays and Sundays until Dec. 14, 2025
Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Festive Village at Burnaby Village Museum

Burnaby Heritage Museum has opened its annual Festive Village, which is completely free to enjoy. Visitors can expect roving seasonal entertainment, festive bites, warm lights and light installations throughout the open-air museum, exhibits centred around the theme of sports and games for the whole family to enjoy.

Time: 1 to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays, and 1 to 9 p.m. on weekends (closed on Mondays)

Vancouver Etsy Co Holiday Pop Up

Vancouver Etsy Co. is hosting a massive holiday pop-up with over 80 local makers, designers, and creatives, allowing shoppers to check out a range of items. This includes home goods, specialty snacks, ceramics, apparel, jewelry, body care, and much more. There will also be a Kids Zone with STEAM activities on Saturday, hosted by UBC Geering Up.

When: Saturday, Nov. 29 and Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025

Broadway Across Canada presents MJ: The Musical

Broadway Across Canada has a new touring production centred around one of the greatest entertainers of all time: Michael Jackson. Created by Tony Award-winning director and choreographer Christopher Wheldon and Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, the breathtaking show arrives in Vancouver this week.

When: Until Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025

Made in the 604 Holiday Night Markets 

Picture perusing dozens of locally made goodies and treasures at a festive night market. That’s exactly what you’ll find at this Made in the 604 series at The Pipe Shop, which kicks off this Friday.

Kringle’s 

Holiday sips, anyone? The ultimate holiday pop-up bar is back at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Kringle’s will bring twinkling lights and cozy, decorated corners to the forefront, where guests are beckoned in by Christmas spirit and Christmas spirits.

IndieFest

The sixth annual IndieFest by re:Naissance is in full swing, but there’s still plenty of time to check out this year’s events and shows.
