Whether you’re in a St. Patrick’s Day mood or prefer to keep things on the chill side this weekend, there are plenty of opportunities to get out of the house. Cheer on your favourite team, indulge in a cherry blossom-themed treat, or take part in an Irish pub crawl – here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (March 14-16).

Vancouver Cherry Blossom Food Festival  

The second annual Vancouver Cherry Blossom Food Festival starts this weekend, bringing spring lovers together on a self-guided journey to over 20 participating vendors in Metro Vancouver with cherry blossom-themed treats, including Beaucoup Bakery, Mister Artisan Ice Cream, and Daan Go Cake Lab Cream, to name a few.

When: March 14, 2025 to April 27, 2025
Where: 10 participating locations in Metro Vancouver

B.C. Home + Garden Show

Maybe you prefer to learn up on everything you need to transform your home into an indoor sanctuary. The B.C. Home + Garden Show is here to guide you with its panel of design, culinary, and garden experts so you can accomplish any home improvement project you set your mind to.

The event takes place at B.C. Place from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 13 and Friday, March 14, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, and until 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 16.

When: Thursday, March 13 to Sunday, March 16, 2025

St. Patrick’s Day Weekend Pub Crawl 

Kicking off Saint Patrick’s Day weekend is this pub crawl starting at Portside at 7 p.m., with stops for drinks, games, and more fun planned around Gastown, ending up at one of the biggest and best bars in the neighbourhood (cough cough, we’re thinking it’s Blarney!)

This Friday, artist Garrett Murphy (it’s murph) is bringing his euphoric dance music to the Commodore to kick off the weekend with a lively show.

Twilight in Concert

Another concert coming your way! Twilight lovers can check out a special concert that brings all the moody, nostalgic, and flat-out iconic elements of the film to life through music.

CelticFest

Western Canada’s largest Celtic festival, CelticFest returns this weekend with a headline event on Sunday, March 16, 2025 featuring Irish acoustic folk-rock band, Hermitage Green at the Vogue Theatre, alongside a Family Day event in East Van on Saturday, March 15, 2025. The latter will include art, music, dance, and tin whistle workshops for families to enjoy.

Giants

This weekend, the Giants are facing off against the Victoria Royals from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Langley Events Centre.

Catch a Canucks game 

Hot off a heart-racing win against the Flames this week, the ‘Nucks are up against the Chicago Blackhawks and Utah Hockey Club this weekend, and both games are at Rogers Arena!

Vancouver International Dance Festival 

It’s the last couple of days of the 25th annual Vancouver International Dance Fest, and it’s not too late to catch a show. Check out a dance and visual arts duet on Friday, March 14, 2025, a hip-hop performance focusing on ‘breaking,’ and a Vogue Ball centering LGBTQIA2S+ BIPOC communities, with the city’s first all-Black judges panel.

Free admission for kids at Malahat SkyWalk 

Kids and teens aged 17 and under can get free admission to the Malahat SkyWalk between Saturday, March 15 and March 30, 2025. During their visit, visitors can enjoy access to the seven-story spiral slide, Spiral Tower, TreeWalk, and Luke’s Lane.
