It’s almost the long weekend, and we’re ready to dive into this list of outdoor adventures, concerts, baseball, and the world’s largest Vaisakhi Parade. Here are 11 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (April 18-20).
Every April, millions of Sikhs world-wide celebrate Vaisakhi Day to celebrate the establishment of the Khalsa order by Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji (10th Sikh Guru) in 1699. It’s one of the most important days in the Sikh calendar, and the world’s largest Vaisakhi Parade takes place right here in Metro Vancouver.
The parade will start at the Gurdwara Sahib Dasmesh Darbar Temple at approximately 9 a.m., according to the event page.

Cheer on the Vancouver Canadians at the Nat all weekend long as they face off against the Eugene Emeralds. With games on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, you’ve got plenty to pick from!

Here’s one for spring craft lovers! This natural dye workshop teaches participants to bundle dye with fresh flowers harvested from the Colour Me Local Dye Garden. By the end of the session, you’ll have created a silk scarf/neck ornament/hair wrap with colourful patterns made from the flowers.

The Improv Centre has a new comedy show featuring one lucky improviser looking for love. Inspired by the hit reality series The Bachelor, the show is created entirely by suggestions from the audience, meaning no two nights will be the same.
