It’s officially summer and here in Toronto, it certainly feels like the season has begun. With festivals, outdoor movies under the stars, concerts and music festivals, we locals know how to make the most of these gorgeous few months. Check out this list of the coolest things to do this week in Toronto so you can keep the fun going in all the best ways.
The Yayoi Kusama exhibit that took Toronto by storm a few years back is now a permanent fixture at the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO), and it reopens to the public on June 22.
The AGO’s exhibit features “mirrored spheres suspended from the ceiling and arranged on the floor,” according to the description. If you’ve only seen it in photos, now is your chance to finally experience it in person.

Taste of Asia, Canada’s largest Asian festival, is back! Returning to Markham, this will be the 18th year for the event, which celebrates harmony, cuisine and culture.
Expect flavour and fun at this year’s Taste of Asia, which kicks off on June 24. Hosted by the Federation of Chinese Canadians in Markham (FCCM), this year it will take on the theme of celebrating collaboration with Hakka World Conference, and Asialicious.

The start of warm weather and in-person festivals calls for a celebration in Toronto, and what better way to do that than a big collective happy dance? Green Space Festival is back in Toronto for Pride Month and it’s a free, all-ages dance party where everyone is welcome.
The dance parties are described as “the best alfresco parties with enticing music, queery performances, delicious food and drinks, and a whole lot of love.”

The season of movies under the stars is about to return here in the city! The Toronto Outdoor Picture Show (TOPS) is making a comeback for the summer with a new series of programming called Curtains Up!. The films will pay tribute to all of the performing artists we’ve missed seeing live during the pandemic, from dancers to circus acts to musicians and more.

A whimsical walkway has popped up in Toronto. The free outdoor pop-up, called The Colourway, is a series of rainbow arches made out of 5,000 recycled pool noodles. If you snap a photo of The Colourway, you’ll be given access to all kinds of deals and freebies at participating storefronts in the area, including free pizza, gym passes, clothing discounts, and more.
