smARTfilms Series – New Beginnings

SmARTfilms’ New Beginnings series offer a “thought-provoking exploration of diverse perspectives, addressing crucial societal issues such as race, finance, family, and personal challenges.” This week’s film is The Pursuit of Happyness.

The Kills

Indie rock band The Kills are touring their latest release “God Games.” Check out American singer Alison Mosshart and British guitarist Jamie Hince as they hit the stage at the Showbox SoDo this week.

Workout Wednesdays

Fitness-focused Seattleites will be able to attend weekly Workout Wednesdays Winter Fitness Sessions presented by Virginia Mason Franciscan Health which are being hosted at Seattle Center.

Best of all, the classes are drop in so there’s no need to book ahead. The classes being offered are yoga and Zumba both of which are open to all ages and experience levels.

When: Wednesdays now until April 3rd, from 6 PM-7 PM & 7:30 PM-8:30 PM

Candlelight: A Tribute to Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift may not be coming back to Seattle for a concert soon, but there’s one way to sing along to her songs live. Candlelight: A Tribute to Taylor Swift has several upcoming concerts in the city, and you can catch one this week!

When: Wednesday, February 7th, 2024
Where:  The Museum of Flight, 9404 East Marginal Way South
Cost:  $41+

 Climate Pledge Arena Tour

Did you know you can tour the Climate Pledge Arena? “This expertly guided, behind-the-scenes journey tells the rich story and transformation of Climate Pledge Arena, from the 1962 World’s Fair to the $1.15B redevelopment completed in October 2021,” according to the description. And there’s one this week!

Live at the Laser Dome: KEXP DJ in Residence

Live at the Laser Dome: KEXP DJ in Residence includes a DJ residency program where KEXP DJs will create unique musical laser experiences in PacSci’s Laser Dome, according to the event page.

Sounds like a magical way to spend a Wednesday.

BIMA Lunar New Year Dinner

BIMA’s Masterpiece Dinner Series is back this week! Held on the eve of the Lunar New Year, check it out and enjoy a lively 8-course dinner.

When: Friday, February 9th

Cost:  $200+

Harry Potter: Magic at Play

The Harry Potter experience has more than 20 touchpoints of hands-on magical activity, including “games, exploration, sensory activations, and more.” Your journey begins at the iconic 4 Privet Drive where you’ll explore the Dursley’s living room and eventually be whisked away on a boat as you cross the Great Lake to arrive at Hogwarts.

Quixote Nuevo 

Quixote Nuevo is described as “a humorous and heartfelt quest towards becoming the hero of your own story.” It’s on now until this weekend.

When: On now until Saturday, February 10th, 2024

Cost: $20+

Seattle Museum Month

During February when you check into participating downtown Seattle hotels, you can request a Seattle Museum Month packet and museum map. This packet gives you a guest pass for up to 4 guests for half price admission at select museums.

This year, there are 27 participating museums and institutions including The Seattle Art Museum, Woodland Park Zoo and Chihuly Garden and Glass among others.

As for hotels you can stay at places like The Arctic Club Hotel, The Edgewater Hotel, The W Seattle and many more.

When: February 1st-29th
