Well, Edmonton, we are almost near the end of June. And with that, it is also almost the official start of summer (this Wednesday!) So let’s enjoy what the city has to offer as we head into our favourite season. Here are the best things to do in Edmonton this week.
While Jann Arden is known as being a musical artist, this particular event is a speaking one. Expect Arden to share her personal journey “exploring the importance of adaptability and being built for change, and how to find the good — and the funny — in all situations, even the most challenging.”

June is Indigenous History Month in Canada, a time to learn, listen, celebrate and share Indigenous resilience and excellence. On June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day, the Royal Alberta Museum will be hosting stories, crafting, movies, and more. Activities are included with admission, free for Indigenous Peoples.

Telus World of Science is also recognizing and celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day. “On June 21, recognize and celebrate the culture and worldviews of Indigenous Peoples who would traditionally steward the lands of amiskwaciy-wâskahikan, Beaver Hills House (Edmonton) through a variety of community experiences,” states the Telus World of Science. An Indigenous Vendors Market will also be on site.
