From icy outdoor escapades to cozy indoor performances, there’s plenty to keep the fun going. Ahead are 10 of the best things to do in and around Edmonton this week.
If you haven’t already caught Ekow Nimako’s LEGO art display at the Art Gallery of Alberta, you’re missing out big. This mind-blowing display takes you through Black history by way of Afrofuturistic LEGO sculptures. And to term these sculptures intricate and incredible is an understatement.

Opera lovers, here’s one for you! The Edmonton Opera is presenting a fresh take on Béla Bartók’s Bluebeard’s Castle. This English-sung production explores the classic Hungarian story of love and dementia but with contemporary upgrades.

Here’s one for the film buffs and music lovers alike. In celebration of Black History Month, the Art Gallery of Alberta is rolling out the red carpet for Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story. The documentary outlines the life of the trailblazing Black trans singer who rocked the 1960s scene.
This is 100 minutes of pure, unadulterated coolness, packed with rare, juicy interviews.
