It’s a new week, Edmonton! And it looks like a nice fall week is ahead of us, with some warmer days and sunshine ahead of the weekend. With that, let’s go out and enjoy these gorgeous fall days! Here are the best things to do in Edmonton this week.

Crescendo!

The world premier of Crescendo! is taking place at the Shadow Theatre starting this week. “Crescendo! is inspired by true stories and takes us into the lives of women in a community choir, ” according to the theatre.

Old Strathcona Ghost Tours

There’s a ghostly walk through Old Strathcona this week that is sure to give you a chill! The tour stops in front of the Strathcona Hotel, the Princess Theatre, the Strathcona High School and many other buildings, houses, and shops that have reported ghosts, hauntings, murders, and mysteries.

Bizet’s Carmen

Ready for some opera? Edmonton Opera is bringing Bizet’s Carmen this week, and it’s described as a “fiery passion and drama are ever present in this timeless spectacle of love and loss.”

When: Thursday, October 19th, 2023 – also playing on October 21st, and 24th

Litfest

LitFest is back in Edmonton celebrating all things nonfiction! There are author readings, workshops, and live performances. There are ticketed and  free events throughout different venues.

Guns N’ Roses

Take us down to the Paradise City this week, as Guns N’ Roses bring their North American tour to Rogers Place!

Dermot Kennedy

Not into Guns N’ Roses? Perhaps Dermot Kennedy is your cup of tea! The Irish singer and songwriter will be at Rogers Place on Friday.

Edmonton Corn Maze

Spruce Ridge Scare

Get ready to be spooked, every Friday this October! Spruce Ridge Scare is a family owned and built Haunted House located at #287 Spruce Ridge rd. in Spruce Grove! The family charges either $5 a person (a donation for men’s health), or one non-perishable food donation per person (for the parkland food bank).

When: Every Friday to Sunday until Tuesday, October 31st, 2023

Cost: $5 or a non-perishable food item

DARK: Fort Edmonton Park

On select nights this month, you’ll be able to face your biggest fears in Edmonton!  Dark at Fort Edmonton Park has new haunting experiences at its event, which is celebrating 6 years of terror. “Survive a horde of undead in a defenceless frontier town. Escape the deranged killer clown whose grand gesture is murder. Dare to discover what nightmares are made during  the witching hour,” states the event. We are scared just reading that.
