10 things to do in and around Edmonton this week (November 14 -18)

Happy mid-November, Edmonton! The countdown to the holidays have officially begun, and all the Christmas markets will be arriving in just a few weeks time now. But before then, here are the best things to do in Edmonton this week!

PLANET FITNESS OPENING

Kick off the week at the the grand opening of the Planet Fitness’s new White Oaks location! There will be a ribbon cutting, giveaways, food, drinks, and a raffle!

EDMONTON OILERS VS LA KINGS

The Oilers are in town for a mid-week game, playing the Los Angeles Kings! If you’re looking to check out the game IRL, lots of tickets are available.

HOLIDAY MARKET AT THE TRADING POST

Tis the season! Join us the Holiday Market at the Trading Post, taking place Tuesdays & Wednesdays 10-5pm and Thursdays 11-8pm. This special Holiday Market has arts, crafts, food, beverages, fashion, holiday items and so much more!

DISNEY ON ICE: FIND YOUR HERO

Disney is in town! Well, at least on ice… Discover the hero inside us all at Disney On Ice when your favourite Disney stories come to life through world-class ice skating!

CALLIGRAPHY WORKSHOP

Looking to personalize gifts this season? Why not try the art of calligraphy? Hosted by artist Rhea at Saje Natural Wellness, they will provide all the materials needed for this experience.

CANNES LIONS SCREENING

This annual event hosts Canadian advertising and marketing communities as they gather to support their industry’s charity and to help celebrate the world’s best creative work and commercials. Expect to mingle, enjoy local food, and officially screen the world’s best multi-platform video commercials produced in the past year.

ALMOST A FULL MOON

Almost A Full Moon was commissioned by the Citadel, and is inspired by the beloved Christmas album by Canadian singer/songwriter Hawksley Workman. Check out this new holiday music to get into the seasonal spirit!

THE ART GALLERY OF ALBERTA

This is the perfect month to visit the AGA, since it’s getting cold and there are a ton of exhibitions to check out. In addition to the permanent collection, there are a whopping 10 exhibitions in there right now, with 2 more landing in the coming weeks.
