Hold onto your hats, Calgary. The weekend is almost here, and there’s plenty to do in and around the city.

We’ve packed this week’s list with events ranging from live music to gem and mineral shows. Here are 10 things you should get up to this weekend, as curated by us!

Cirque du Soleil Echo

The world-renowned acrobatics group will perform at the Big Top for the opening night of its new show, Echo, with bold new visuals, surprising twists, and never-before-seen acrobatic feats.

Calgary Gem and Mineral Show

Feast your eyes on over 60 of the best gem, mineral, and jewellery vendors from across Canada and abroad. You’ll experience rare, fine gems and crystals in this 20,000-square-foot room piled high with stones.

Halloweekends at Calaway Park

Get on the boo crew at Calaway Park! This Halloween-themed event is brimming with actors in costume, meet-and-greets, spooky scenes and parade floats.

When: Saturday, Sept. 6 to Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025
Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Stardew Valley – Symphony of Seasons

You can celebrate the end of summer, Stardew Valley style, with an orchestral performance of the popular video game’s seasonally themed soundtrack.

When: Friday, Sept. 5, 2025

SYNTHONY: EDM Meets Orchestra

Join the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra in an absolutely epic and innovative combination of EDM and orchestra. The Phil will bring its grand sound to the Big Four while DJs, vocalists, and immersive visuals bring the heat. You’ll get to dance the night away to the biggest EDM anthems from Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, Calvin Harris, and Fatboy Slim. Next level!

Springbank Old Tyme Fall Fair

A classic fall fair located at Springbank’s Park For All Seasons, you can expect market vendors, an agriculture show, and an impressive marquee tent.

Afro Caribbean Festival YYC

This vibrant celebration of African and Caribbean heritage will showcase cultural diversity with a flag-raising parade, music, dance, and cuisine.

When: Saturday, Sept. 6 to Sunday, Sept. 7, 2025

Where: Cowboys Park — 1220 9th Ave. SW

AirdrieFest

This street festival has humble roots beginning in 2010, but has quickly grown to attract over 7,000 attendees each year with vibrant outdoor street vendors, local artisans, businesses, non-profits, and sports groups celebrating all things Airdrie.

When: Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025
Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Downtown Airdrie, Alta.

Easy Days Pop-Up Market

Designed for artists, creators and makers, the market is both free to attend and will shed some much-deserved light on Calgary’s creative community.

When: Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025
Time: Noon to 5 p.m.
Location: RiverWalk Plaza — north of 632 Confluence Way SE.
Cost: Free

Phil in the Park

Pack a blanket and a picnic basket and prepare yourself to be enthralled by the classic music of the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. This mix of the classics with selections from the stage and screen will be the perfect way to bid farewell to summer.
