10 things to do in and around Calgary this week (September 30 – October 4)

Happy Sunday! October is here and there is plenty to experience in and around the city. From special programming to some incredible National Day for Truth and Reconciliation gatherings and walks, here are 10 things to do this week in Calgary.

Orange Shirt Day at The Confluence

This Monday, wear orange and take in free programming at The Confluence. From walking tours, and complimentary admission to The Confluence Cultural Centre, a letter-writing activity, and film screenings, September 30th will be incredibly eye-opening.

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at Arts Commons

A celebration of Indigenous artists and storytellers, Calgary’s Arts Commons will host several events including a market, gallery tours and artist talks, as well as the Elders Story Project.

Calgary Flames vs. Seattle Kraken

Honouring The Children

Meant to recognize the lost children and survivors of residential schools, the Annual Pokaiks: The Children’s Commemorative Walk and Gathering Honouring will take place on the 30th and will provide various spaces for performers and speakers of all ages.

Haunted Mini Golf 

This weekend, bring your friends and family and check out a spooky 18-hole mini golf course at Calgary’s Winsport. Enjoy!
