You can watch live plays in Stanley Park once more this summer

For decades now, Theatre Under the Stars has been transforming Stanley Park’s Malkin Bowl into a truly special summer experience. So, we’re super happy to let you know that after taking the past two seasons off, they’re coming back better than ever for 2022!

Going all the way back to 1940, Theatre Under the Stars has become a tradition for live arts in the city. Every summer, the experience offers up both classic and contemporary plays to check out, often with a focus on musicals. Naturally, that’s the focus for their return this year.

A Medieval Tavern pop-up lands in Vancouver this May

Starting in July, the company will be putting on almost-daily shows of two beloved musicals- Something Rotten! and We Will Rock You. The former is a satirical look at the development of the musical itself, while the latter is like a sci-fi opera set to some of Queen’s most iconic songs. Either way, you can’t lose with your pick.

But, we’re even more impressed by the price point! If you’re able to snag early bird tickets (which go on sale in late May), you’ll be able to check this out for just $20. And, if you’re really looking forward to it, know that season passes are available for just $90, and offer your pick of the best seats in the metaphorical house.

We’ll keep you reminded before things truly kick off. If you already know you wanna go, though, then now’s the time to start planning some dates!
