The World Naked Bike Ride is cycling through Toronto this summer

You can bare all this summer at a city-wide protest unlike any other. The World Naked Bike Ride is coming back to Toronto, with their annual message against oil dependency and urban pollution. The event cycles through the city every year, and every year folks head out to take part.

So in case you haven’t heard of this wild ride, the World Naked Bike Ride is, well, exactly what it sounds like. People strip down to their birthday suits, jump on their bikes, and take a tour of downtown Toronto’s busiest streets. It’s certainly a protest that does not go by unnoticed.

What’s the point of the whole thing? There are a few causes behind the event. First and foremost, as we mentioned, it’s to protest oil dependency and urban pollution. But on top of that, it’s also a way to promote greater cycling safety and to encourage body freedom.

Before you ask, yes the ride is completely legal. It’s also free to attend, has no pre-registration, cost to the city, or corporate sponsors. You just show up and get riding. The event was created in Vancouver and has since expanded to over 80 cities worldwide.

So mark your calendars, people! Whether you’ll be a naked cycler or just a bystander, this summer event is one you will definitely remember.
