This charming Calgary bookstore has floor to ceiling literature & a hidden theatre in the basement

Alberta has a ton of ‘top secret’ restaurants, hidden gems, and underrated shops, but few give us the warm fuzzies quite like The Next Page Bookstore in Calgary.

Located in the community of Inglewood, this thrifty retailer buys and sells used literature, warm beverages – and on occasion, locally made goodies & stationary.

From floor to ceiling, the shelves are full of imagination, poetry, life lessons, new perspectives, and history – plus they allow dogs in the store, which seriously enhances the customer experience.

Of course, books and furry friends aren’t the only things that you’ll find in this unique-to-Calgary destination.

Those who venture to the basement will be encouraged to take a seat in their mini-theatre, where interviews, documentaries, and films will be shown around the clock.

Of course, if you’re not able to stop by and enjoy everything that they have to offer in person, you can still support them online – where they’ve set up a virtual store with hundreds of titles.

Delivery is free of charge as long as you live within city limits and is done on Tuesdays and Fridays – however, we’d definitely still recommend the trip if you’re free to do so.

There’s really no place like it!
