These unique Ontario homes are some of Canada’s most wish-listed Airbnbs

Travel is back in a big way and according to Airbnb, travellers are looking at treehouses, yurts, and dome homes for their next vacation.

Unique stays are gaining huge popularity in Canada, increasing by almost 70 percent last year compared to 2019, Airbnb shared with Curiocity in a press release.

Today, the booking platform released a list of Canada’s most wish-listed unique properties, several of which are in Ontario. The number one most sought-after home on the list, however, is a one-of-a-kind Earth House on Vancouver Island.

At the top of the list of most-wish-listed Airbnbs in Canada this off-grid glamping geodesic dome on a farm in Port Hope, Ontario.

“Located at Haute Goat Farm, our stay offers over 200-acres where you can discover the magic of the farm and their Nigerian Dwarf Goats, Huacaya Alpacas, Exotic Chickens, and Icelandic Horses,” the description says.

The next Ontario property included on the list is the highly-popular wine barrel floating cabin in Essex, Ontario.

The cedar panoramic cabin on the water is situated in the heart of wine country.

“You will be tied to shore and floating in beautiful Fox Creek, overlooking lush vineyards and surrounded by wildlife such as local bald eagles, Canadian geese, ducks, herons, bushy red-tailed foxes, and much more,” says the property’s description.

The next unique stay in Ontario to appear on the list is this gorgeous tiny cabin in the woods.

The 107 sq ft home is simple but perfect, located in the heart of South Western Ontario in a tranquin forest. It’s described as a “quiet, cozy, romantic- in the lush sanctuary of nature.”

And of course, the list would not be complete without a treehouse, and this unique two-story home in the trees is Ontario’s most sought-after.

This gorgeous home among the treetops is built on 8 pine trees, overlooking a ravine with an unbeatable view. It’s located only minutes from St. Catharines and Jordan Station in the heart of wine country.
