Fans of Alberta-shot ‘The Last of Us’ are having a field day with this location blunder

Despite a heartbreaking end to last week’s episode, fans of HBO’s new hit series ‘The Last Of Us’ have still found a way to chuckle their way into next Sunday, but you know what they say! Laughter really is the best medicine.

Based on a popular video game of the same name, ‘The Last Of Us’ stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as Joel, a hardened smuggler tasked with escorting a young girl (Bella Ramsey) across post-apocalyptic America.

Set 20 years after a fungal infection wipes out civilization, cities have been reclaimed by plants and trees – all portrayed beautifully by a team of set designers, location scouts and CGI pros.

However, in “Long, Long, time” a few eagle-eyed viewers have noticed something a teensy bit off.

Shot along Alberta’s real-life Sheep River Falls, the episode’s opening sequence claims to be 10 miles west of Boston. But the scenery, as those familiar with the area have pointed out on Twitter, is almost too good to be true.

Heck, even iconic author Stephen King (who is famously from Portland, Maine) got in on it:

Of course, this little “blunder” doesn’t take away from the show’s magic!

This series really has been a joy to watch and while Alberta is geographically diverse, it’s just incredibly good-looking.

Here’s to more fantastic writing, acting and direction to come. At the end of the day, the show is beautiful and we can’t wait to see more!
