A behind the scenes look at episode 5 of HBO’s Alberta-shot ‘The Last of Us’ (PHOTOS)

Having to wait an entire week to catch the next episode of your favourite show is tough. Luckily, there has been no shortage of additional content and behind-the-scenes footage for fans of HBO’s The Last Of Us to consume Monday through Saturday.

Based on a popular video game of the same name, TLOU stars Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) as Joel, a hardened smuggler tasked with escorting a young girl (Bella Ramsey) across post-apocalyptic America.

With a whopping 97% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, this heartwrenching story was shot entirely in Alberta, Canada with the help of some incredibly talented people like cinematographer Eben Bolter who recently shared how elaborate the show’s sets really are.

Described as their ‘biggest set piece,’ the giant cul-de-sac at the end of episode 5 was actually built from the ground up which is incredible considering that it featured 16 houses and tons of overhead lighting.

Bolter continues to explain:

Wild right? Well, it gets even more impressive!

Honestly, we can’t wait to see even more of what this show has to offer.

Whether you’re already on board or just want to see what all the fuss is about, be sure to tune into new episodes of The Last Of Us on Crave or HBO via your local TV Provider every Sunday at 9:00 pm ET or 7 pm MST.

We’ve never seen anything like it!
