It’s been a long time coming but Downtown Calgary’s newest boutique hotel, The Dorian, is finally taking reservations for the fall of 2022.
From the Palliser to The Le Germain, YYC has no shortage of beautiful hotels, but The Dorian is said to be different – catering to the modern traveller by offering one-of-a-kind accommodations and modern interiors in the heart of Calgary.
“The Dorian is a good match for the demographics of our city. Our youthful, aspiring global citizens want to experience the best the world has to offer right here at home,” said CEO of Calgary’s Economic Development department, Mary Moran, on their website.

Inspired by Oscar Wilde’s novel The Picture Of Dorian Gray, this mega hotel will have a stunning courtyard, as well as a 27th-floor outdoor patio and will feature products made and manufactured in Calgary.
In addition to its 308 suites, it will also have 3 restaurants, Prologue, Bistro Novelle, and The Wilde, all led by recently appointed Executive Chef, Kevin D. Birch.
According to a press release sent to Curiocity, Birch is an accomplished entrepreneur and culinary instructor at SAIT who has worked in 2 of Canada’s top 100 restaurants – so to say that he knows his way around a kitchen would be an understatement.
“I am looking forward to taking the culinary offerings at the Dorian to an elevated level and adding a variety of options to Calgary’s burgeoning food scene,” said Chef Birch. “We want to provide our guests and diners alike with a special and distinctive dining experience, whether they are craving upscale fare or a casual breakfast or lunch with friends.”
