A whimsical new walkway has popped up in Toronto. The Colourway is a series of rainbow arches made out of pool noodles, and that’s just the beginning of what makes this installation so cool.
Created by Gensler and the Yonge + St. Clair BIA, The Colourway is made from over 5,000 upcycled pool noodles that have been diverted from reaching landfills.
The installation officially opens on Thursday, June 1st with a kickoff event featuring live music and freebies.
The playful structure is not only a celebration of summer but also of local businesses and Pride Month.

For the next several weeks, the installation will act as a hub for free events and giveaways, with weekly live concerts and programming every Thursday until July 6th.
There are also all kinds of contests with over $1,000 in prizes up for grabs.
Every Saturday in June, a Golden Ticket Hunt will grant visitors the chance to hunt for a special envelope at participating businesses for the chance to win a prize.
All you have to do to enter is post photos with The Colourway on social media — all the details about the various contests and how to enter are on Yonge + St. Clair’s website.
The final week of June will be dedicated to all things Pride, with free activations for all to enjoy.
You’ll find The Colourway at Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue, right in front of the Loblaws until Friday, July 7th.
Be sure to stop by for a colourful photo-up, and stay for the live music and freebies!
