If you were expecting that Toronto would be back to normal by the summer, then we’ve got some tough news for you. Today, the City of Toronto announced that all major events, both indoor and out, will be cancelled up until and including Canada Day. The decision comes as Toronto continues to grapple with new COVID cases. Here’s the scoop.
Basically, the city thinks that it would be better to cancel events now, considering the complex planning required to put the events on. Additionally, they carry higher public health risks, due to potential travel to and within the various events.

It’s important to note that the status of these events could change as restrictions come and go. However, even if some restrictions are lifted it’s doubtful that any of them will be business as usual. Instead, expect ‘socially-distanced’ options, should they be available.
