The 17th Ave ‘Single’s fest’ starts this week with unreal events & socializing opportunities

We’ll be honest guys, we’ve had it up till here (our hands are way, way above our heads btw) with dating apps. The constant catfishing, over editing of pics, repeated ghosting and regular swiping, all to no avail, is friggin annoying. Besides, after the way we spent most of 2020 and all of 2021, we could all use some time away from our couches. Thankfully, for us singles, 17th Ave has us covered in more ways than one with their ‘Get Off the Apps and Onto the Ave’ events calendar.

So, what exactly is this? Well, starting January 7 and leading all the way up to February 28, the 17th Ave Retail & Entertainment District will be hosting a bajillion different events for singles- from singles mixers, wine tastings and workshops to drag shows and LGBTQ+ specific events.

Yes, the events are pretty darn exciting but that’s not the reason why we are this siked about it. What’s got our intrigue through the roof is the fact that this seven week-long ‘love series’ is making it possible to meet that special someone the old-fashioned way. You know what that means, right? No more ‘expectation vs reality’ drama (YAY!!).
Plus, it’s giving our 2022 a very dreamy and romantic start. God knows we could use one!

Since this no-app dating extravaganza is filled with socializing opportunities, you’ll have no shortage of up-your-alley events to choose from. One to watch for? A glam evening of cold sips, live music and plenty of mingling opportunities at 17th Ave’s newest resident and Nashville-inspired bar, Whiskey Rose Saloon.

And while an evening of spirits and smiles is a date-night classic, you’ll find plenty of other events on the calendar that make for some incredible date ideas. A few others topping our list are the Mariachi nights at Tropical, the Trivial Pursuit-themed trivia night at Element Café and the paint-sip-chocolate-taste at TEN Degrees Chocolate.

Now, whether you are hoping you find love while discerning the many notes of Pinot Noir or while screaming your lungs out during a spirited game of trivia, either way, your January is going to be lit.

Check out the many shades of romance 17th Ave is offering in this event calendar here. See you there YYC!
