The 10 best work-from-home cities in Canada are places you’ve probably never been

Earlier this week, the tech-focused magazine put out a new ranking of the best work-from-home cities in Canada and the United States. But, we never would have guessed the names that actually came out on top. Let’s see what they came up with.

PCMAG used a variety of factors to make their rankings. Of course, access to high-quality internet was on there, alongside housing costs. But other things were factored in, like the median income, distance to a major city, and even the arts & culture employment in the area.

So, here are the 10 best work-from-home cities in Canada (they’re mostly towns, but whatever):

  1. Dieppe, New Brunswick
  2. Halifax, Nova Scotia
  3. Logy Bay-Middle Cove-Outer Cove, Newfoundland
  4. Quispamsis, New Brunswick
  5. Saint Zotique, Quebec
  6. Ayr, Ontario
  7. King, Ontario
  8. Coaldale, Alberta
  9. Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec
  10. Olds, Alberta

Full honesty- we don’t recognize around half of the names on this list. But, PCMAG has a writeup on each and every one, so credit where credit is due. As mentioned, plenty of these spots have common themes like access to gigabit internet, and relative proximity to some of Canada’s larger cities.

But, aside from that, they’ve rounded up some truly interesting towns. Dieppe, for example, is one of the largest French-speaking areas outside of Quebec. Meanwhile, Ayr and King get shoutouts for their picturesque settings, which has attracted the film industry.
