Here’s a fun way to spend a weekend! In just a few days time, Sustainival will come to Edmonton, bringing with it the world’s first ‘Green Carnival’. For over a decade now, this event has been showcasing the powers of renewable energy, and our city is going to get a taste!
As a little backstory, Sustainival was born of the idea that a family-friendly carnival was the perfect way to showcase the power of renewable energy. Using solar, wind, and biodiesel, the carnival has been delighting visitors with top-notch rides and, we have to admit, a very cool premise.

So, hearing that it’s coming to Edmonton was music to our ears! Next weekend, Sustainival will be touching down at Kingsway Mall, bringing with it a variety of midway rides ranging from classics like the Ferris Wheel and Carousel, to more, uh, intense options like The Zipper and the Sky Master.
The family-friendly attraction will kick off on Thursday, and run straight through until Sunday. If you just want to check things out, then know that entrance to the grounds is actually free! But, we personally think checking out the rides is a good idea too, and those can be accessed on a ride by ride basis, or by purchasing a full-day pass.
Either way, this is bound to be a fun, and very unique option, for a day out next weekend!
