A long-debated topic has finally come to a boiling point, and Canadians are making their voices heard. It’s the age-old battle between flats and drums — and the online world seemingly chose a side by only giving us a “drums” emoji. It’s archaic, and fans believe flats deserve space on keyboards, too.
Leading the charge is St. Louis Bar and Grill, who have launched a very serious petition calling for the addition of a proper Chicken Wing Flat emoji.
Just in time for National Chicken Wing Day on July 29, St. Louis is calling attention to the fact that the emoji typically used to indicate a chicken wing is actually a drumstick. Chicken wing fans are invited to sign the petition and fight for change.
It’s all part of St. Louis’ Wingsanity new promotion, bringing a whirlwind of wing-tastic deals and activities.
On now through Monday, August 3, enjoy unlimited Original, Dusted, Boneless, and Plant-Based wings for just $24.99! However you like them done — saucy, spicy, or crispy. P.S. Don’t forget St. Louis’ legendary Garlic Dill sauce on the side!
As long as you can keep eating, the wings will keep on coming.
To make the occasion even more festive, St. Louis has also created the “Hall of Famished” to recognize Canada’s biggest wing eaters.
Here’s how the Hall of Famished works: Remain on your local leaderboard each week for a chance to be a Wingsanity Champion. The top weekly wing eater at each location becomes a Wingsanity Champion and is added to a draw to win free wings for a year (that’s a 1 in 5 chance) and entered into the grand prize of free wings for life!
This isn’t just some restaurant promotion; it’s a Champions League where Canadians from coast-to-coast test the limits of their appetite. The current record holder? That would be 160 wings consumed by someone in Nova Scotia!
Are you ready to join Wingsanity? Visit your local St. Louis Bar & Grill before August 3 to join in on the fun and to sign the petition for a Chicken Wing Flats emoji.
