Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’ show jumping has returned and here’s everything you need to know

Scratch whatever plans you have and gear up for the most happening week of the year. One of Canada’s most iconic equestrian events, aka the Spruce Meadows ‘Masters’, has returned from September 7–11. And it’s as fab and fun as ever.

Hosted at the renowned International Ring at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, the event will see some of the best riders and horses battle it out.

And there are tons to elevate your experience. To begin with, there is the WestJet Evening of the Horse marked with a drone show, live music, the spectacular ATCO Electric Six Bar, Dressage with Canadian Dressage CDI winners Ryan Torkkeli & Pia Fortmüller, and more!

Then we reveal the winners of this year’s Name the Foal, presented by TELUS. It’s exactly as it sounds—we reveal the three lucky winners and the names they chose! Then there is the BMO Nations’ Cup day and the CP ‘International’, presented by Rolex.

As if the entertaining and excitement-soaring sporting events weren’t enough, ‘Masters’ brings along a line-up of activities for the whole fam. From educational demos to free entry for Grams and Gramps on Thursday to plenty of kids’ activities.
Oh, and you’ll get to witness the cutest of sights as the Spruce Meadows Prairie Dogs take centre stage to entertain you.

For anyone wanting to shop local and support amazing businesses, there will also be 70 local vendors at the MARKT.

Frankly, you don’t have to be an equestrian enthusiast to realize this is going to be one helluva event. And for anyone hoping to end summer on an unforgettable note, this is the place to be.
