You can cuddle with baby farm animals at this adorable spring festival in Calgary

Butterfield Acres is ringing in the 2026 season with its Spring Babies Festival, and it’s truly every animal lover’s dream come true! Think baby goats, bunnies, chicks, and tiny piglets, all waiting to be snuggled by you.

It’s the perfect event to kick off the spring season and enjoy a day full of farm-filled fun.

Meet the babies up close

At the heart of the Spring Babies Festival are the animals themselves. You can catch baby piglets running around their pens, snuggle up with woolly lambs, or visit the goat enclosure and see baby goats prancing around.

You’ll want to have your camera ready because every pen is packed full of photo-worthy moments.

But there’s more to do than just meet the animals. Kids can hop on a pony or take a ride in a tractor-pulled wagon. And for an extra personal touch, private wagon and pony rides are available to book.

If you need a break from the cuteness overload, head over to their fire pit to warm up and grab a nice cup of hot chocolate, coffee, apple cider, or even indulge in a s’more kit.

About Butterfield Acres

Butterfield Acres is Calgary’s oldest farm open to the public. The farm is home to a large variety of animals, such as horses, cows, pigs, chickens, and more.

Visitors have the opportunity to get hands-on with the animals, go on educational tours, and enjoy activities that let you experience farm life, right here in the city.

In addition to these events, they also host birthday parties and summer camps for kids.

If you can’t make it to the farm, Butterfield Acres can bring the animals to you with their mobile petting zoo.

Whether it’s a birthday party, a school event, or a community gathering, you can plan a unique farm experience anywhere in Calgary.
