Canucks to Whitecaps: These Vancouver sports teams are hiring right now

If you’re passionate about your favourite sport beyond the screen or stadium, it may be worth considering a career pivot, if you’re looking for a new job. In BC, there are a handful of professional sports teams hiring for a variety of roles, from full-time opportunities to game-day positions. So whether you’ve always wanted to drive a Zamboni, or want to apply your marketing or sales skills in the industry – let’s dive right in.

Here are Vancouver’s sports teams, and what they’re hiring for right now.

Vancouver Canucks

We’ll start with one for the hockey fans out there. The Canucks have tons of open positions in both Vancouver and Abbotsford both part-time and full-time.

Abbotsford-based roles applicants can apply for include IT Event Support, Event Operations Assistant, Game Night Marketing Assistant, Concession Attendants, Audio Engineers, and members of their Ice and Hype teams – to name a few.

In Vancouver, there are openings for a Marketing Coordinator, Email Marketing Coordinator, Retail Sales Associate, Ticket Centre Representative, Graphic Designer, and more via LinkedIn.

Vancouver Canadians

If baseball is more your speed, there are a plethora of opportunities with the Vancouver Canadians. Currently, the team is looking to fill the positions of A&B Tool Rentals Grounds Crew, Marketing Coordinator, Fan Services Usher, Ticket Taker/Seller, Press Box Staff, Video Operations Staff, Parking Attendants, Bat Boy/Girl, and much more.

BC Lions

The BC Lions happen to be the oldest professional sports franchise in BC, winning six out of the ten Grey Cup championships they’ve competed in. Right now, they are looking to hire a Manager for Grey Cup Events, and they’re always taking applications for Account Executives on their Sales & Fan Services team.

Vancouver Whitecaps FC

Vancouver is abuzz with the news of Messi and Inter Miami taking on the Whitecaps this spring, but did you know that our home team is not only celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, but hiring for a ton of roles?

Those interested can apply for roles across their departments, from Events & Fan Experience to Accounting & Finance. This includes the positions of Operations Crew Supervisor, Head Athletic Trainer, Account Executive, Sales, and Chief Business Officer – Women’s Soccer – to name a few.

And that’s a wrap on some professional sports teams hiring in BC at the moment. Stay tuned for more openings as they come (including from the Vancouver Bandits and Vancouver Warriors).

Best of luck, applicants!
