Soon you can see Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel without leaving Vancouver

Been meaning to take a quick trip to Rome but haven’t found the time to do it? Well, a company is bringing one of its greatest sights to us. Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition is coming to Vancouver this month, joining the wave of ‘immersive installations’ that have popped up this year.

The LA-based company, Special Entertainment Events, Inc., has been touring the exhibition all over the world, with stops in cities like Shanghai, Berlin, and even New York. They’re promising true-to-size copies of all 34 frescoes created by Michelangelo himself, alongside information about the artist and his work.

In order to do this, they’ve taken the highest quality images available and printed them using a ‘special technique’ intended to showcase every detail, down to each brushstroke. Alongside the prints, guests will informative signage about the symbolism and the artist’s process.
