This Washington city is known for its majestic waterfall which is more than twice as high as Niagara Falls

When you think of Washington’s most iconic natural features a few things probably come to mind, Puget Sound, Mount Rainier, and the Olympics. But how about Snoqualmie Falls? The nearly 270-foot waterfall is one of Washington’s most popular scenic attractions, according to the City of Snoqualmie.

“Snoqualmie Falls is the second most visited natural landmark in Washington after Mount Rainier,” writes the City. “It is more than twice as high as Niagara Falls! Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the falls are a site of natural, historic, and cultural convergence.”

The falls has two upper observation viewing areas for you to check out.

While beautiful, it is also well-known to cinephiles as it and the Salish Lodge play a large role in David Lynch’s Twin Peaks.

The falls are free to visit and are open daily from dawn until dusk. If you want to take it one step further you can book a stay at the Salish Lodge and enjoy all that the area has to offer.

Snoqualmie is known for its abundance of outdoor attractions like the stunning 460-acre Meadowbrook Farm and Mount Si, a great spot for hiking and even blueberry picking in the summer.

Beyond the outdoors, the city has a rich history of industry, and visitors can check out the Northwest Railway Museum, the Snoqualmie Valley Historical Museum as well as the PSE Hydroelectric Museum. During fall and winter, the Northwest Railway Museum offers several rides, including a themed Santa train.

In town, visitors can shop, dine, and visit artist spaces like the Art Gallery of Snovalley.

Snoqualmie can be explored year-round and is the perfect place for those who love a little bit of everything.
